Course description

With this online course in ADDIE Instructional Design from the International Society for Educational Technology, you’ll develop the foundational knowledge and skills you need to design and implement effective instruction.

This fully online program is designed for individuals interested in learning more about the ADDIE model. The purpose of this course is to provide trainers/teachers with the fundamental skills in instructional design needed to develop successful training events.

This course will introduce you to the ADDIE instructional design process which involves the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of instruction. The ADDIE instructional design module, when implemented correctly, results in the development of instructional / training materials designed to address the specific goals and objectives of a pre-identified instructional problem or performance gap.

This “ADDIE Model of Instructional Design” open, online course is divided into five modules, one for each component of the ADDIE system. We’ll look at key terms, provide discussion questions, and wrap up each section with a short quiz.

    I hold a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, an M.S. in Elementary Education from Purdue University - West Lafayette.I have published several research articles in various scholarly journals. My current research focus is on student-centered interactive learning environments. My goal is to help students improve their learning capabilities through the integration of technology.I have taught a variety of instructional design courses in diverse settings (undergraduate, graduate and K-12) and formats (online, hybrid and face-to-face).
